UK Bookhaul Summer 2018
In the Summer 2018 I went to both Liverpool and London on a holiday and it was so much fun – I saw Liverpool for the first time, and I got to see some new sights/bars/musicals and some more of Hyde Park, while in London.
I also bought books, and probably a little too many but I just have to share the treasures with you! First of all, bookshops in other countries have a different selection and since I don’t like to wait for books to be translated into Danish, I might as well buy them overseas when I can – and it’s a great excuse for expanding the bookshelves too, oops.
Especially nonfiction books related to performing arts, is something I am always on the look-out for and the booknerd inside me didn’t go home disappointed, as I was lucky to find a good handful!
Here is my UK Bookhaul 2018 reaching a total of 11 books!
Fiction:
“The Girl with all the gifts” by M. R. Carey
“Tin” by Pádraig Kenny
“Dreamwalker” by J.D. Oswald
“The Frozen Telescope” by Jennifer Bell (The third book in the Uncommoner series)
Management/Lifestyle:
“The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k” by Sarah Knight
“The 4-hour work week” by Timothy Ferriss
Performing Arts:
“Stage management and theatre administration” by Hawkins and Menear
“Producing – Basics film-making 01” by Charlotte Worthington
“The Shifting point” by Peter Brook
“Carry on, understudies – theatre & sexual politics” by Michelene Wandor
“Vocal direction for the theatre” by Nan Withers-Wilson
I can’t wait to get started on all these and really it’s a good view into some of the categories and types of books I enjoy reading the most.
I’ll make sure to update this post with reviews of the books, as soon as they’re up, but it will take me some time to get through. If you think any of these books sound interesting, let me know which of them you’d love to hear about first!
